When you Find a skin care line you love

Hey Everyone!

I have finally found a line of Skin Care products that I live and actually works for me.

A few months ago I was over at my friend’s house, as her sister and I had watched her boys for a bit while she had to work. After she had come home, she and her sister were talking about Perfectly Posh, and a few months later I ordered my first perfectly posh products. Since then I have been building my  accumulation of Posh Products.

Above, I have shown all the full size items I have either bought, been given or got as a sample.

Items shown above:

•Smashing Good Pumpkin anti acne face and body clay

•BFF (Best Face Forever) Facewash

•Hairy Beast Shave Gel

•Daily Grind Snarky Bar

•It’s Da Bee’s Knees body scrub

•Love The Dark Black Sea salt body scrub

•Whole Lava Love volcanic ash face exfoliator

•Amaaazing big fat yummy hand creme

•I scream for ice cream big fat yummy hand creme

•Portlandia Skindelicious body butter

•Pout About It peppermint lip balm.

There are so few skin care products that are as natural based as posh products. I have also spent years trying to find products that actually work on my combo/oily skin and deal with drying without over drying my skin.

I have spent the last couple months dealing with my skin breaking out, and Posh totally cleared up my skin. Everyone’s experience with the products will be different, Perfectly Posh works for me, and they have a great selection of products.

If you want to order and try any of the products, feel free to order.  You can find my Friend’s Posh Site Here. She and I are also having a party going on, so if you order, be sure to select Erica’s Posh Party in the party drop down menu, and ship directly to you.

Going more Natural

Hey Everyone!

Over the course of the last few months, since I began using ItWorks and Perfectly Posh products that are naturally based, I was reminded of something I had really wanted to start doing a while back. That is to live a more natural lifestyle. That started when I had to go dairy free, and generally gluten free.

I have wanted to use naturally based products for many reasons, mostly health related so that I felt better inside and out, and reduced the chances to have a reaction to products. I still have to be careful about the products I use, and reading labels, as some “natural” products really aren’t all that natural.

Having grown up, and spent most of my life in the Pacific Northwest, in the part of said region that is all about recycling, composting, and is driven primarily liberal politics, at some point some of that “natural lifestyle” was bound to rub off, since I have been saturated in my whole life. Having to go Dairy Free and limit gluten, has definitely pushed my toward it that much more. I have also been trying to educate myself on how bad these man made chemicals really are for our bodies and the environment (every time you shower, brush your teeth, and so much more, you are putting chemicals down the drain then are put into the sewer or septic system and have to be dealt with, and end up in the environment). These chemicals have been connected to causing cancers and other health issues that were not around, or if they were around not as prevalent 100 year ago as they are today.

For the past year or two, I have been using a laundry soap that I mix up myself (it is one of those DIY laundry soaps I found on Pinterest), it uses Borax, Fels Naphtha, and Arm & Hammer super washing soda. Ever since I was little, I (or my parents) had to be super careful with what they used to wash my clothes, as I have broken out in hives with several different brands of laundry detergents, and I can’t use anything that is super strongly scented or I break out.

As for other cleaning products, I like Mrs. Meyers Clean Day and Seventh Generation cleaning products. I am not adverse to keeping some lysol around the house for tough situations or to give the house a good thorough cleaning (especially after having had a cold or something), but for normal day to day, I prefer the natural products, that for the day to day cleaning are just as good and won’t put too many crazy chemicals on or in my body.

While I am well on my way to living a more natural lifestyle, there are many things I am not going to give up, like personal hygiene aka brushing my teeth, showering, using deodorant, doing laundry regularly etc. I am still a firm believer in all of that, I am just choosing to use more natural ways for doing them that are better for me and the environment.

Perfectly Posh and Scentsy

Hey Everyone!

As many of you know I am an ItWorks distributor, which I love. Over the past year I have found two more Direct Sales companies that I also love and purchase products from regularly. About a year ago I found Scentsy which I fell in love with. A few months ago I found Perfectly Posh, because a friend of mine sells it.

I have my business that I love, and products that I love. I also love when I find other products that I love just as much and being able to help and support my friends.

I found that Perfectly Posh has a body butter called Portlandia, and it smells a little like roses and being outside, which is totally part of what Portland is known for. Portland is one of the few places you can go hiking in the winter where there is no snow in the ground and isn’t completely brown. I became a fan of Scentsy because the bars make the house smell amazing.

I also love that there is a body butter named after my city, that is natural and hand crafted and is also available company wide.

I am all for supporting the small, local businesses and people who are independent distributors for companies that have amazing products that are along the lines of things that I support.

I am from the generation and region that is seeing the negative side effects of seeing what all the chemicals that have been put in our cleaners, beauty products and food are causing.

Growing up, especially in my teenage years I knew natural options were out there, but I didn’t want any part of it, as they were considered counter culture and counter to how I was being raised and contrary to what I should want. The natural products were only something the “dirty hippies” and those who wanted to live alternative lifestyles wanted, and I was supposed to be a “good girl” who wanted “normal” products. As I got older, and went to College, and experienced adverse reactions to the mainstream man-made chemical products, to where, I began looking for natural alternatives that still get me just as clean if not more so.
